Lettered in both baseball and football at Alhambra High School.
Was a member of the Moors undefeated 1946 varsity football team which won the CIF championship.

PROFESSIONAL TEAMS:
Evansville and Atlanta.

PROFESSIONAL TEAM HONORS / HIGHLIGHTS:
Pitched for eight seasons in the minor leagues. 
Recorded 64 wins during his minor-league career and threw 25 complete games as a starting pitcher.
1948-Posted a record of 15-5, with an ERA of 3.30, for Evansville, Illinois.
Struck out 19 batters in one game, setting a Southern Association record for most strikeouts by a pitcher in a nine-inning game.
Helped lead Atlanta to a championship in the 1954 Dixie Series.
